collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome extension and service.

When you use the FloatPost extension:
- Tab Information: When you explicitly choose to capture tabs, we collect the tab titles,
URLs, and screenshots of the pages you select.
- Usage Data: We collect basic usage statistics such as the number of workspaces created
and viewed.
- Local History: Your recent workspace history is stored locally in your browser only.
When you visit our website:
- Email Address: If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address.
- Analytics: We may use basic analytics to understand how visitors use our website.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Service Functionality: To create, store, and display your shared workspaces.
- Communication: To send you product updates, feature announcements, or respond to your
inquiries (only if you opted in).
- Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve FloatPost's functionality.
- Security: To detect and prevent abuse or malicious use of our service.
3. Data Storage and Security
- Cloud Storage: Workspace data (URLs and screenshots) is stored securely on our servers
with industry-standard encryption.
- Local Storage: Your workspace history is stored locally in your browser and never
transmitted to our servers.
- Data Retention: Workspaces are stored indefinitely unless you request deletion. Free
tier workspaces may expire after 30 days.
- Security Measures: We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to
protect your data.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do NOT sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
We only share data in these limited circumstances:
- Workspace Sharing: When you create a workspace, anyone with the link can view it. This
is the intended functionality.
- Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services (hosting, database) to operate
FloatPost. They are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our
rights and safety.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- Access: You can view all workspaces you've created through your local history.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your workspaces by contacting us at hello@floatpost.ai.
- Email Opt-out: Unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in each email.
- Data Portability: Export your workspaces as JSON, PDF, or Markdown at any time.
6. Cookies and Tracking
We use minimal tracking:
- Essential Cookies: Required for the service to function (session management).
- Analytics: We may use analytics tools to understand how FloatPost is used. You can opt
out using browser extensions like uBlock Origin.
- No Third-Party Tracking: We do not use advertising tracking or sell data to
advertisers.
7. Children's Privacy
FloatPost is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If
you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
8. International Users
FloatPost is operated from Canada. If you are accessing from outside Canada, your information will be
transferred to and processed in Canada. By using FloatPost, you consent to this transfer.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated
"Last Updated" date. Continued use of FloatPost after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

FloatPost uses these third-party services:

- Supabase: Database storage
